Editorial Standards & Ethics
Editorial standards and ethics at Off-Pitch Journal.
Our editorial independence
Every story published in Off-Pitch Journal begins and ends with a human decision. Our editors identify the subjects we cover, choose the angles we take, and are responsible for everything that carries our name. We are not aggregators. We do not republish press releases. The themes, ideas and voices in this journal reflect genuine editorial curiosity about the world where sport, culture and business meet.
Our sources
Our journalism draws on publicly available information — interviews, published reports, official announcements, verified media coverage and open digital sources. Where we reference specific facts, we link to their origin. We do not fabricate quotes, invent sources or present speculation as confirmed fact. Where something is opinion, we say so.
Our use of AI tools
We believe in being straightforward about how we work. Like many modern editorial teams, we use AI writing tools as part of our production process. These tools help us with research organisation, drafting and refining language. They do not replace editorial judgment. Every article is conceived, directed, reviewed and approved by a human editor before publication. The perspective, the selection of what matters and the responsibility for what we publish are always ours.
What we are
Off-Pitch Journal is an independent editorial platform. Our content represents the views and analysis of our editorial team, not the positions of any club, brand, athlete or commercial partner. When commercial relationships exist, we will say so clearly.
